An Inaccurate Drawing of somewhere I call home, 2019

The spaces we inhabit become part of our own history. The house we grew up is a place of collected memories whose importance equals what we choose to remember. This work combines three floor plans from three houses I grew up in, in three different countries – a combination of places and cultures that form who I am today. The inaccuracy of the floor plan addresses issues of migration, displacement, and identity; a story of being from nowhere and everywhere, belonging only to “the middle”.
